Six wrestlers from Oklahoma State University have been named top seeds in their respective weight classes for the upcoming Big 12 Wrestling Championships, according to the conference’s announcement on Monday.

The athletes who secured No. 1 seeds are Troy Spratley (125 pounds), Jax Forrest (133), Sergio Vega (141), Casey Swiderski (149), Dee Lockett (165), and Alex Facundo (174).

Spratley, who finished second at last year’s Big 12 Championships, enters this postseason with a 12-3 record and remains undefeated against Big 12 opponents. Forrest, a freshman, has started his college career with a perfect 10-0 record and has scored bonus points in all five of his matches against conference competitors.

Vega is currently unbeaten at 15-0, including eight wins over ranked opponents. He has earned bonus points in each of his last three matches. Swiderski returns as the top seed at 149 pounds after missing last season due to injury; he previously placed third two years ago and has won ten of his last eleven bouts.

Lockett, also a true freshman, leads the bracket at 165 pounds with a 13-1 record and no losses within the conference. Facundo rounds out the group of top seeds at 174 pounds; he has won thirteen of his last fifteen matches and will receive a bye in the opening round.

Other Oklahoma State wrestlers earning high seeds include Landon Robideau (157), Zack Ryder (184), and Konner Doucet (heavyweight), each seeded second in their divisions. Doucet previously placed fifth at the championships in both the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons before missing last year.

Cody Merrill will make his Big 12 Championships debut at 197 pounds after recently securing a dual-clinching pin against Iowa.

The Big 12 Wrestling Championships are scheduled for March 6-7 at the BOK Center in Tulsa. All sessions will be available for streaming on ESPN+.
