Oklahoma State University Partners with Coursedog to Streamline Course Scheduling

Oklahoma State University is partnering with Coursedog to implement a modern academic scheduling system.

The new system will allow OSU to streamline how academic departments create course schedules each semester, automate class schedule policy enforcement, facilitate efficient space utilization, and provide analytics for data-driven decisions.

“A current pain point for us lies in the special approvals required for certain types of courses. Currently, we route paper and PDF forms to get approvals. We were really excited about Coursedog’s configurable approval forms and workflows that can help us renovate and streamline the process,” said University Registrar Rita Peaster.

OSU went through a Request for Proposal (RFP) process, which allowed campus stakeholders to collaborate and determine the best option. Coursedog’s configurable, modern academic scheduling tool was found to be the optimal solution.

“Coursedog really stood out in the RFP process with their detailed responses and visual examples,” Peaster said. “Not only did Coursedog explain how they fulfilled the requirements, they provided proof demonstrating exactly how the need would be met in the platform.”

OSU is looking forward to moving its scheduling processes online with Coursedog in order to be more nimble and efficient. Long term, the university plans to use Coursedog to make data-informed decisions about scheduling and space utilization across campus.
