The Kay County Sheriff’s Office is seeking quality applicants who are fully certified peace officers.
The position is for Sheriff's Deputy. Sheriff Deputies must be self-motivated, require minimal supervision, believe in an organizational culture that fosters teamwork, and promotes high standards of honesty, integrity and fairness. They must be willing to compassionately serve and courageously protect.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Patrol
Civil Process
Court Room Security
Prisoner Transport
Security of all County Buildings and Complexes
All applicants must meet the following requirements.
o Must be 21 years or older.
o Must be a U.S. Citizen.
o Must have a valid Oklahoma State Driver’s License.
o Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
o Have no felony or major misdemeanor convictions.
o Have no recent involvement with marijuana within the last two years.
o Have no other involvement with other illicit drugs within the last five years.
o Have no arrests or police conducts associated with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence within the last five years.
o Must have no criminal charges pending.
o Must have a high degree of ethical and moral standards.
o Must have sound judgement and interpersonal skills.
o Must be community oriented.
o Must be able to work when needed, days, nights, weekends and holidays.
o Must be able to perform police duties without any physical limitations or special accommodations.
o Must pass in-depth background investigation .
o Must pass a drug screening test .
o Must pass psychological assessment test.
o Must pass a polygraph examination.
o Depending on level of experience, must successfully complete KSO Field Training Program.
Starting salary is $2950/month certified with benefits or $2750/month uncertified with benefits.
