Northern Oklahoma College NEO beats Mavs 4-1

NEO continued the Mavs losing streak with a 4-1 win over Northern on Sunday.  The Norsemen scored a goal in the first half off of a free kick and three more in the second half en route to the win.  The Mavericks were forced to play a man down as Leon Schmitter received a red card for a hand ball outside of the box in the first half.  Hez Irias scored the Mavs lone goal off an assist from Ryan Doig.

"Give credit to NEO, but we did a fairly good job of beating ourselves today," said coach Michael DuRoy.  "Two hand balls outside the box by the goalkeeper.  One cost us a goal, and the other made us play more than a half a man down.  That is tough to overcome for good teams, let alone a struggling one.  Despite all of that we played some nice soccer from time to time.  It's been a terrible year, but the guys still play hard for the most part."
