Attention Parents in the Wakita / Manchester areas. The Grant County Sheriffs Office will be conducting a Child Fingerprinting event in Wakita from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on the 21st of January 2023 at the Wakita Foodland, 115 Main Street. The event will allow the parents to obtain a Child Print Card. The cards are kept by the parents and are used for identification that can be given to Law Enforcement quickly in the event of an emergency.

Due to an increase in utility trailer thefts the Sheriffs Office will also be recording trailer serial numbers for use in the event your trailer is stolen. The ability to quickly retrieve the trailer serial will allow the input into the National Crime Information Center database and hopefully aid in a rapid recovery. This is strictly voluntary, just an effort to help in the event of a loss.

Finally the Sheriffs Office will also have High Value Item Inventory sheets on hand to pass out to anyone that would like to have a single document to record all the serial numbers of their property, such as electronics and weapons. Like the Child Print Card the form will be kept by the property owner only and used in the event of personal property being stolen, again aiding us to get your property recovered as quickly as we can.

Any Questions can be directed to the Grant County Sheriffs Office Wakita / Manchester community Deputy, Deputy Heath Hall or Lieutenant Brandon Gray. The Sheriffs Office is currently working to support the rest of the county in different locations over the coming weeks so if you cannot make the Wakita child print there will be others. We look forward to the event and hope to see as many folks there as we can.
