Alex Garcia capped off a thrilling comeback, leading the Oklahoma State men's tennis team to a 4-3 victory over Vanderbilt on Sunday at the Lummis Family Tennis Center.

 

With the win, OSU improved to 8-2 with back-to-back come-from-behind wins on the weekend. 

Starting with doubles, Vandy's Nathan Cox and Michael Ross defeated Chase Ferguson and Garcia on court two, 6-2. Isaac Becroft and Tyler Zink followed up with a 6-3 win on court one to even things up.

Vanderbilt's Joubert Klopper and Macsen Sisam dropped Alessio Basile and Carl Roothman, giving the Commodores the doubles point. 

In singles action, Ferguson fell to Cox in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1. On court five, Basile got the Pokes on the board with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Mitchell Deames.

Pini came up short against Sisam, 6-2, 6-3, to extend the Cowboy deficit to 3-1. Becroft followed with a three-set triumph, 6-1, 1-6, 6-4, to bring OSU within one. 

It was Zink who stepped up next for the Cowboys, defeating Klopper in three sets to even the contest. Garcia took his match on court four to the third set, before heading into a tiebreaker to decide the match. He defeated Siim Troost 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(6) for the victory.

The Cowboys return to action on February 26 where they travel to Ithaca, New York, to take on Cornell at 1 p.m. (CST).
