STILLWATER, OK — Beginning Monday, June 12, all lanes of traffic will be closed on W. 12th Ave. between south Duncan and Duck streets for construction that will mitigate flooding and drainage issues. The construction with full lane closure is anticipated to be approximately five weeks.
“Flooding in this area has been a concern for several years and creates hazardous driving conditions,” said Bill Millis, Deputy Director of Engineering. “Upon completion, this project will improve stormwater management in the area and road safety during rain events.”
Motorists are asked to pay careful attention when driving in the area and to take alternate routes if possible. To increase traffic safety in the area, city crews have added signage and reflective plastic markers. The City will monitor traffic conditions as the project continues through completion.
