6.4% of Kay County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Kay County recorded an unemployment rate of 6.4% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 1,281 people out of the 44,019 living in Kay County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Kay County has decreased compared to the 6.6% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Kay County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5%.

Of the 18,717 people who had a job during that time, 5 were employed in the Armed Forces and 18,712 belonged to the civilian labor force.
